Resource Development & Communications Professional: FT/Exempt

The Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary builds community among the Jewish people, assuring continuity from generation to generation. The Federation promotes the welfare of the Jewish people in our community, in Israel, and worldwide.

We are looking for a professional who is passionate about Jewish community life in the Raleigh-Cary area and understands how to engage people in it. This position requires someone who loves working with people and has the communication skills to engage them in Jewish philanthropy. A friendly, warm disposition, with a natural understanding of customer service, is a must.

Under the supervision the CEO, the Resource Development & Communications Professional is responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive and strategic development and communications plan for the Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary to grow and thrive.

Specific responsibilities include donor solicitation and cultivation strategies, creative special events planning, donor communications, direct response communications, social media, marketing, and donor recognition. The Resource Development & Communications Professional also will assist the CEO with integrating fundraising across all Federation programs and strategic goals and special fundraising needs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders and donors.
  • Direct campaign solicitation process which includes recruiting and training lay solicitors, making solicitation assignments, and following up with solicitors to ensure successful completion of these assignments.
  • In partnership with the CEO, FRD Chair, staff, and other lay volunteers, plan, organize, and implement annual campaign events, community outreach and affinity groups, and other development related programs.
  • Create and write the monthly Federation community newsletter e-blast.
  • Serve as financial development resource for all Federation programs and coordinate these efforts to maximize benefits for the Federation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with relevant professional experience; minimum 3-5 years of campaign/fundraising or related experience.
  • Experience working as a professional or lay leader in a Jewish community setting; knowledge of the Jewish Federation movement and Jewish philanthropy preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, which are needed to interact with a diverse body of lay leaders, donors, professional staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated competency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Knowledge of campaign software a plus.
  • Experience and competency with social media.
  • Willingness to travel and work some evenings, partial weekends or irregular hours as necessary to interact with donors and prospects, and attend or provide staff support for relevant meetings and community events.

Finance Assistant-PT

We are looking for a professional to offer support functions in accounts payable and receivable, and will bring a seasoned sense of office protocol. Team player and sense of humor are a must.

Qualifications include:

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to details and deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and general office equipment
  • Proficient in accounts payable, and bookkeeping experience
  • Experienced with Quickbooks
