Guest Post: Uniting in Resilience

This week, we are bringing you a letter from Jasmine Medoff, Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies and 1st Vice President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh’s Board of Trustees.

Jasmine Medoff, 1st Vice President

As we commemorate the six-month anniversary of October 7, our hearts remain steadfast in hope for the safe return of the Israeli hostages and an end to the Israel-Hamas War. Despite these dark times, I’ve watched this community find strength in each other in new and lasting ways.

One notable initiative is the establishment of an Israel task force under the auspices of our local Jewish Community Relations Council. This task force represents a proactive approach to addressing the multifaceted challenges we confront as a community.

The task force provides resources, assistance, and a sense of solidarity to community members in their time of need. By bringing together a diverse group of individuals committed to the cause, we have been able to amplify our efforts in combating antisemitism, supporting local Israelis, and advocating for pro-Israel positions within our community.

We hope you will join the Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh for future events, including:

Let us honor the memory of those we have lost by rededicating ourselves to the cause of Jewish unity. Together, we can build a future where antisemitism has no place, where our community thrives, and where Israel is supported and celebrated.

If you’d like to be a part of the Israel task force or have ideas for Israel engagement, please contact me at jasmine.medoff@shalomraleigh.org. I would love to hear from you.

Shabbat Shalom!

Jasmine Medoff
