3rd Annual Inter-Community Seder Connects Hundreds Across Greater Raleigh in Tense Times

On Sunday, April 14, Jewish Federation brought together 150 people representing 45 organizations for a model Passover Seder at our third annual Inter-Community Seder, this year held in downtown Raleigh. It was a day filled with inspiration, bridge building, and a shared commitment to making Greater Raleigh a better place.

The event lead off with with pledge of allegiance led by a local Girl Scouts troop, followed by comments from Phil Brodsky and Raleigh Mayor Mary Ann Baldwin.

One of the highlights this year was the singing and sharing from Mary Williams - a gospel singer and educator who sang African American spirituals inspired by the Passover story and sung by American slaves.

Jewish Federation was so grateful for the participation of so many leaders from across Greater Raleigh, especially so as the event was held less than 24 hours after Iran’s attack on Israel. In good times and in difficult times, every connection we make and every conversation we have matters. We look forward to continuing these conversations for the next year.

At the end of the Inter-Community Seder, Phil Brodsky announced the launching of our new initiative, “Food with Friends,” in which leaders from the Jewish community and another will meet together for a meal and deep conversation. The first, such event is scheduled for May with the Triangle Area Hindu Temple Association.
