Director of Engagement and Programming,
Full-Time
The Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary seeks a dynamic leader and relationship builder to join our team as our Director of Engagement and Programming, an exempt full-time employee, who will oversee our engagement strategy, develop innovative programming with our programming staff, and strengthen the social fabric Jewish community of Greater Raleigh.
The Director of Engagement and Programming will be a member of the organization’s senior leadership team, and partner closely with the executive director to design an engagement strategy that will capture the imagination and passions of the Greater Raleigh Jewish Community. The Director will partner with staff across the organization, as well as board members, volunteers leaders and organizations across the Jewish landscape to ensure our program offerings are meeting our target audiences and maximizing the involvement and inclusion of the local Jewish community. The Director will manage the Federation’s program and engagement team, and will be a key partner to the organization’s other teams.
Core Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing Federation’s overall programming and engagement strategies.
Ensure programs reach the Federation’s target audiences – youth, families, adults, and seniors.
Hire, train, and manage staff on the engagement and program team, as well as event planners for large community-wide programs.
Oversee programming planning and program creation processes.
Develop and oversee the implementation of community-wide programs.
Interact with community leaders and organizations across Greater Raleigh on program ideas, issues, content, and engagement opportunities.
Design and build a new volunteer-led programming platform, and determine needed staffing to support platform.
Cultivate and develop volunteer leadership of programming and engagement.
Build partnerships with community partners to engage additional audiences
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.
Four years of applicable experience in managing engagement strategies and program implementation.
Demonstrated experience or knowledge of relationship building and program planning.
Demonstrated management of volunteers and volunteer resources.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated management and supervision of staff and teams.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience with strategic planning and nonprofit budgeting.
Experience with marketing and public relations/media
Demonstrated understanding of and respect for Jewish community values and traditions.
Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and adherence to principles of confidentiality.
