Barry's dedication and leadership have contributed to the vibrancy of Jewish life in our community. We are grateful for his service to the community, and are excited to see what he will accomplish in his retirement!

Click the video to hear Mark Wiener, VP of Operations, speak about his professional and personal relationship with Barry (including some 'blast from the past' photos that will make you smile!) at our Board Installation in November.

Finally, we end this message with some words from Barry.

For me, it is and has always been about people. Whether at JCC, JFS, JCRC, or as Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary, the lives and families that I touched, and that touched me so deeply in return, were the most meaningful part of all the years of service. In my retirement, they will provide great memories to reflect on during whatever the next act brings.

In retrospect, I got so much more than I gave. The phrase "Thank you" seems so insufficient, but nonetheless, it is all I can say. To the community, I would like to say thank you for the support, both personal and professional. Thank you for the criticisms when I deserved them and for the kudos when I earned them. Most of all, thank you for your friendship.

I can’t imagine a fuller or more satisfying career. Nor can I imagine a more meaningful way to end it than by completing one final task, one final “ask”. Please join me in supporting The Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary’s Annual Campaign.

L'Shalom,

Barry Schwartz
