About the speaker: Dr. Carol Meyers, Professor Emerita of Religious Studies at Duke University. writes and teaches biblical studies, archaeology, and gender in the biblical world. Also a field archaeologist, she has participated as well as directed many excavations in Israel. The author of eleven books and described as "one of today's leading historians and field archeologists," Dr Meyers served as president of the Society of Biblical Literature in 2013 and was part of the revision team for the 2010 New American Bible. Prof. Meyers earned her M.A. and Ph.D. at Brandeis University.
