Celebrating North Carolina Composers: Secular and Sacred Works by Alejandro Rutty and Allan Friedman
Alejandro Rutty’s Down Home Cantata uses oral histories from North Carolina families to tell the story of the hopes, aspirations, and realities of Jewish immigrants to our state. Allan Friedman’s American Variations on Kabbalat Shabbat, in the words of one of its psalms, “sings to Adonai a new song”. Both works were commissioned by and for the Triangle Jewish Chorale.
