JCC Virtual Speaker Series
Wednesday, January 13, 7:30pm-9pm
“Jews in TV” presented by Wesley Hyatt.
"Jews on TV" will be a fun evening filled with memories and perhaps some stories you've never heard before. Highlights of Jewish character portrayals and Jewish stars on TV’s classic years from 1948-1988 include Milton Berle, Jerry Lewis, The Goldbergs (with Gertrude Berg), Mrs. G. Goes to College (Berg's second series), Bridget Loves Bernie, Rhoda, Brooklyn Bridge and Thirtysomething. Jewish writers of comedy series such as The Carol Burnett Show, made a huge impact on TV as did Freddie Silverman, the only person to be head of programming at CBS, ABC as well as NBC. Stay tuned for fun.
