SORE

Documentary film about Jewish conversion in Israel By Noa Roth

The movie "SORE" follows two compelling women who embark on a journey to convert to Judaism and move to Israel. Although conversion in Israel is highly demanding, Martina and Uta are determined to succeed. The poignant story of the two heroines, brings the viewers closer to the politically and socially burning issues of conversion. The camera follows these unique women who have eagerly decided to join the Jewish nation, a nation whose Talmud scholars declared: "Proselytes are as bad for Israel as a sore."

The film will be followed by a talk and Q&A session with the filmmaker, Noa Roth.  Ms. Roth holds an MFA in film directing and a BA in Educational Theater from Tel Aviv University. “SORE” her debut documentary film, was shown in cinemas throughout Israel and aired on YES, Israeli television.
