Connection and Empowerment Forum: Addressing Antisemitism in Wake County Schools Together

Program Description: Connection and Empowerment Forum: Addressing Antisemitism in Wake County Schools Together for Parents and Allies

Are your children experiencing antisemitism in the Wake County Schools?  Are they being bullied, feeling unsafe or targeted because of their Jewish identity?  The Jewish Community Relations Council invites you to an organized forum on Thursday, September 17th at 7:00 pm. All Jewish parents and allies are welcome.

The goals of this forum are the following

  1. To create a sense of community among Jewish students and parents across schools.

  2. To provide support and communal safety in our schools for Jewish students, students, teachers, and staff.

  3. To establish a safe place to share and collect stories and experiences of antisemitism and related incidents so that they can be used as reference points when we meet with school leadership.

  4. To develop awareness of allies and resources for handling incidents in the future.

  5. To build communications channels for local Jewish families with K-12 kids for ongoing connections, updates, and support.

High School Students experiencing these incidents are welcome to attend with their parents.

When: Tuesday, September 17 from 7-9pm

Where: Location provided to registered participants.
