Starting a Jewish Journey

One of the community collaborations that we are the most proud of is the Jewish Essentials class. We bring together rabbis representing every synagogue in Wake County to teach an overview of Jewish holidays and life cycle events. The class is a great fit for interfaith couples, parents raising Jewish children, people considering conversion, and anyone who wants to brush up on the basics of Judaism.

Thanks to a generous grant from the National Center for Encouraging Judaism, we have been able to offer this class to more students than ever before. We are also able to provide students with an "Intro to Judaism Kit," complete with challah, Shabbat candles, dreidels, and other Jewish Shabbat and holiday items. Students love the kit, saying that it helps them feel welcomed and like they are already part of a community.
