1st JCRC Community Seder Hosts Over 20 Local Organizations
Last Sunday, our Jewish Community Relations Council hosted our inaugural Inter-Community Seder. Almost 100 people from over 20 different community organizations attended. We used the Passover seder as a framework for discussing shared values, sharing family traditions, and brainstorming how we can make Raleigh a better place.
Our staff and volunteers were both excited and nervous for the program. But, as soon as everyone showed up, it was clear that this was going to be something special thanks to the warm energy and spirit of community everyone brought.
As much as we enjoyed sharing the Passover Seder and Jewish community traditions with our guests, we equally enjoyed learning about all of the communities and organizations represented. We hope that everyone left Sunday’s program with at least one new contact or connection that will serve them in their work in the year ahead. Our staff and JCRC committee will continue to cultivate our new friendships with other community organizations, and work together in making greater Raleigh closer and stronger than ever.
We would like to thank everyone that helped make this Seder a success, including everyone who shared a reading from their community, our table leaders, our host committee, our volunteers, and our Federation staff.
As we ended our seder yesterday, “Next year in Jerusalem, and next year in Raleigh!”
