Statement on Texas Shooting

The Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary is heartbroken by yesterday’s mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, about 85 miles west of San Antonio, that left 15 dead, including 14 students and 1 teacher.

Our friends at the Jewish Federation of San Antonio and JFS San Antonio have reached out to Uvalde community leaders to offer their help and resources that may be needed at this time.

With the shooting in Buffalo, New York still very fresh in our minds and the funerals for those victims still underway, we must all find the courage needed to process the impact of these murderous rampages, so the lives of those lost shall not be in vain. This attack is another instance of senseless violence that has terrorized innocent children, families, and citizens everywhere, and must come to an end.

We send our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those murdered — may their memory be for a blessing — and share our prayers for a speedy and complete recovery to those physically injured and mentally anguished by this travesty.
