Statement on Antisemitic Flyers Found in Raleigh

Over the past few weeks, antisemitic flyers have been found by community members in two North Raleigh neighborhoods. In addition to speaking with the people who found the fliers, The Jewish Federation of Raleigh-Cary connected with local government officials including the Raleigh Police Department, the office of Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin, Wake County Board of Commissioners Chair Sig Hutchinson, and the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. All of these agencies are aware of the issue and have pledged their support to the Jewish community.

This incident is similar to others that have happened in North Carolina and across the US. The Jewish Federation has also coordinated with our national partners, such as the ADL, who are working with regional and national law enforcement agencies to combat antisemitism and hate.

We understand that these fliers may cause many in our community to feel alarmed and unsafe. The Jewish Federation and the Greater Raleigh Jewish community are here to support you, by amplifying the voice of the Jewish community as well as through education and clinical services with our social workers.

If you find antisemitic flyers in your neighborhood or witness any antisemitic event, please contact the Jewish Federation so that we can offer our support and continue to engage our local officials in combating such hatred in our community and inform law enforcement.
