Federation Hosts Raleigh Police Department Interfaith Team

Last Thursday, our Jewish Federation hosted a lunchtime meeting for the Raleigh Police Department’s Interfaith Community Ambassadors for Responsive Engagement (I-CARE) Team. Founded by Raleigh Police Chief Estella Patterson, the I-CARE Team is made of leaders from a diverse range of Raleigh’s faith communities. They collaborate on initiatives and programs to strengthen the relationships between the Raleigh Police Department and the communities they serve.

Jewish Community Relations Council member Judah Segal is a member of the I-CARE Team. He began the meeting by explaining the HaMotzi, the Jewish blessing over bread. He also explained the role of the Jewish Federation in the Jewish community and the traditions of Hanukkah.

We were happy to meet the members of the I-CARE Team. We look forward to building friendships with them and collaborating on future projects.
