Walk into a Jewish Library and you'll see thousands of titles spanning millennia. (There's good reason why we are called "People of the Book!") But the definition of "Torah" can be confusing with so many different types of works.
That's why we're excited for this upcoming course! In just 6 lessons, you'll leave with a comprehensive understanding of:
- What are all these very different types of books?
- Who were their authors?
- What historic circumstances prompted their composition?
- How did they influence and even shape the history of our people?
- Why are they still the core of the Jewish story to this very day?
This six-week “book-tour” explores the primary genres of Jewish scholarship, how each one reflects a distinct period in Jewish history, and gives us an appreciation for what’s in these “bestsellers” and the contribution they make.
Open to the Wider Community and both in-person and on Zoom. 6 Wednesdays starting Jan 25
