Come learn about new opportunities to move our synagogues, JCCs, and other Jewish institutions toward zero emissions through building electrification and efficiency. We will have a presentation from Becky O’Brien, Director of Food and Climate for Adamah. Becky will introduce the Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition, which is helping Jewish organizations make climate plans and reduce their emission of greenhouse gases. We will also share stories about best practices and take action during the meeting.
Hosted by Adamah, the Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition is a network of 245+ (and growing) Jewish community organizations who recognize the existential threat and moral urgency of climate change and commit to take action. Coalition members develop and implement Climate Action Plans that set goals for both reducing their own greenhouse gas emissions and mobilizing broader networks around climate action. Coalition members are eligible for grants and loans from Adamah to support their actions.
This meeting is for Jewish leaders and anyone who would like to engage in tikkun olam, repairing the world. With this work, we will improve air quality now and create a better climate l’dor v’dor—from our generation to the next.
The meeting is organized and hosted by the Citizens’ Climate Lobby Jewish Action Team.
