Welcoming our new PJ Library Program Manager Gena Brown!
The Federation is excited to announce the hiring of Gena Brown as our new PJ Library Program Manager!
Read below to find out more about Gena in her own words, including her history with the Jewish community.
My name is Gena Brown. I am the new PJ Library Program Manager for The Jewish Federation Raleigh-Cary and so very excited to be here in this position!
I am a long-time member of the Raleigh community, having moved here with my husband, Marvin and our oldest daughter, Aubree almost 29 years ago. We added Sari-Rose several years later, much to our delight. From day one, we have celebrated family milestones and Marvin and I served on various boards. We have been members of the JCC since it opened with Aubree having been the first camper through the door all those years ago. We have enjoyed numerous events there and many proud moments as part of the J-rays and the Camp JCC family.
Prior to joining the Federation team, I most recently launched and was the co-director of HANDmeUPs Thrift in North Raleigh, providing employment opportunities for adults with autism and other intellectual developmental disabilities.
I can't wait to take on this new role as the PJ Library Program Manager and use it to make connections and help further build the amazing Jewish community we have here. If you have any questions about PJ Library or our other initiatives for young families, please reach out to me at 919-676-6170 extension 217 and PJLIbrary@ShalomRaleigh.org to set up a time.
L'shalom,
Gena
