A Statement of Solidarity with the Asian American Community

The Jewish Community Relations Council of Raleigh-Cary stands in solidarity with the Asian and Pacific Islander American community against recent hate and violent acts targeting Asians in our country. Elie Wiesel reminds us,

“We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim…”

We mourn for the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their families. As Jewish tradition teaches, “Do not slander or stand by idly while your neighbor bleeds. (Lev. 19:16).” We feel a moral obligation to lift up our voices and stand with you against these acts of hatred and discrimination.
