Meet Brad Foster, Sports & Recreation Manager!

CEO Phil Brodsky is on family leave for the next several weeks. During that time, enjoy our series of "guest writers" from different parts of the Federation!

Hi, I'm Brad Foster, the JCC Sports & Recreation Manager! I love helping people get active and learn new skills. This spring, get in on the action with J Sports! Our programs and leagues for Spring 2023 include the fastest growing sport; Pickleball, including classes, leagues, and tournaments. Our other leagues include Youth Soccer and Flag Football, 3 vs 3 basketball for Teens and Adults and Adult Flag Football!

But J Sports is not just about getting fit and scoring the winning point–we are also a place to find connection with others. Check out what some of our participants are saying:

“Pickleball has been a great way to re-connect with friends from the Jewish community and to meet so many new people. I love spending time on the JCC campus again like I used to when my kids were younger and attending camp there.” – Robin Dorfman

“Love the people, love the laughs, love the friendships . . . oh and yes, the games! I always leave the JCC Pickleball games feeling better and smiling” – Sally Rooney

We also love to find ways to help our Greater Raleigh Jewish community. Last November, our pickleball players supported the JFS Food Pantry by playing in our "Feed the Pantry" Pickleball Tournament. Players donated 313 pounds of food (equivalent to 261 meals) and also donated 16 grocery store gift cards totaling $325!

I hope that I'll see you on the court soon. If you'd like to learn more, contact me at Brad.Foster@shalomraleigh.org.

Shabbat Shalom,

Brad Foster
