Meet Beth Richman, Chief Operations Officer
CEO Phil Brodsky is on family leave for the next several weeks. During that time, enjoy our series of "guest writers" from different parts of the Federation!
Hello! I'm Beth Richman. After many years of being the JCC Director and Camp JCC Director, I am excited to write to you in my new role as Chief Operations Officer for the Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh.
As a new summer approaches, I've been reflecting on my career journey and how it mirrors the life experience we work to create for our campers. Every camper comes to us on their own journey. Some of their journeys are to learn to swim, some are to get out of the car in the morning without crying and some just want to make friends. It is the job of our staff to help each camper progress on their journey to becoming their best selves through taking risks, learning new skills, and building confidence.
Equally important is that Jewish camp is one of the highest impact experiences that reinforce Jewish identity. We live Jewish values at Camp JCC, including:
B'tzelem Elohim. Everyone belongs at Camp JCC regardless of religion, ability, gender identity, race, and other life experiences.
Gemilut Chasadim. We believe in kindess and making the world a better place for everyone. No one is too young to positively impact someone else or the world.
Kehilah. Camp JCC is a community where campers and staff work together to create meaningful experiences that help them grow into the best versions of themselves.
Camp JCC's staff not only teach these values–they live out these values and model them for campers everyday, many of whom grow up to become camp staff themselves. Our team is working hard to bring our campers their best summer yet. Priority Camp Registration begins on January 25.
WhIle I will miss spending my summers with our campers and staff, I am looking forward to applying the skills and values that I learned at Camp JCC to our growing Federation.
Shabbat Shalom!
Beth Richman
Chief Operations Officer
