Meet Tracy Jacobsen, Volunteer Coordinator!

CEO Phil Brodsky is on family leave for the next several weeks. During that time, enjoy our series of "guest writers" from different parts of the Federation!

Hi, I'm Tracy Jacobsen, JFS Volunteer Coordinator. I’ve been with Jewish Family Services for over 13 years now and have truly enjoyed working with the many amazing people in this community and watching it grow! I love connecting our volunteers with fulfilling opportunities that impact our community in numerous ways. Come "do good" with us by delivering prepared meals or food pantry to those experiencing food insecurity, visit an older adult facing isolation or come to the office and pack a pantry bag or assemble a holiday outreach gift.

We also have Good Deeds Day coming up on Sunday, March 26th! This is a fun-filled day when our entire community joins together in support of local non-profit agencies.

Here's what our volunteers are saying about their experiences with volunteering with us:

“I really enjoy reaching out and helping people! It's always been a passion of mine! Do good and be kind! I have liked meeting some really sweet people with [JFS]. It's my hope to continue my volunteer work for [JFS]!” - Elyssa Martino, JFS Volunteer

“Being a JFS Friendly Visitor gives [me] an opportunity to make a new connection, share stories, and learn, and hopefully brighten up her day as it brings light to mine.” - Harriet Jablonover, JFS Volunteer

“I’m a person who enjoys eating and has always had enough food. If working in the food pantry makes it possible for one family to have enough to eat, then I have done a good deed. Through the generosity of the community by donating to the pantry, my job is done.” - JFS Volunteer
