Jewish Federation Hires Interim CEO
Dear Greater Raleigh Community,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Ryan Fehrman as our Interim CEO.
With over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience dedicated to strengthening communities across the Triangle, Ryan brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to making a difference.
Following outgoing CEO Phil Brodsky’s announcement of his plans to step down in the new year, we understood the importance of finding a leader who could build on Phil’s remarkable accomplishments while ensuring stability for our Jewish community and organization. After meeting with Ryan, it was clear he is the ideal person to guide us through this transitional period with skill and vision.
Ryan’s extensive background includes leadership roles in agencies addressing environmental, higher education, and human service issues. Notably, he spent 19-years leading Families Moving Forward (formerly Genesis Home), where he successfully guided the organization through a transformative merger that doubled the number of families served each year. His innovative leadership helped implement a two-generation approach to addressing family homelessness and launched a tenancy support program to prevent returns to homelessness.
In his most recent position as Executive Director of the N.C. Coalition to End Homelessness, Ryan led the organization’s first strategic planning process, secured multi-year funding to hire its first Development Director, and updated hiring policies best practices. Ryan’s passion for building strong communities and his collaborative approach make him an excellent fit for this role. We are grateful for the team at Moss + Ross Interim Solutions for connecting us with Ryan.
We are excited to welcome Ryan to the Jewish Federation family and look forward to the leadership and expertise he will bring to our organization. As Interim CEO, Ryan will work closely with our dedicated staff to advance our mission and guide us through this transitional period. We will plan a meet-and-greet with Ryan in the new year – stay tuned!
In the meantime, you may catch Ryan, his wife Robyn, and their children Fiona and Miles walking their Golden-doodle, Scout, in the Trinity Park area of Durham, or out for adventures in the woods and waters of North Carolina. Please join me in welcoming Ryan to our Federation and wishing him success in his new role.
Warmly,
Craig Meddin
